-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MORE ABOUT ME... What do you want to achieve in this community? I am seeking thoughtful intellectual engagement, scholarship references, training opportunities, and organizational resources among this community of researchers and practitioners. My goals are to share experiences and be open to personal changes in perspective, leadership practice, and future collaborations. What do you have to offer the community?: I have 20 years of practical experience with Leadership & Change in multiple cultural and organizational contexts -- from grassroots, leadership development with youth of color to high-tech startup teams to the creation of employee network groups and membership-based associations to global corporate infrastructure transformations (i.e. organizational change prompted by IPOs, mergers, divestitures, outsourcing, and large-scale, enterprise-wide IT deployment). I think of myself as a good listener, interviewer, and critical thinker. I'd like to be a facilitator of groups like this one. I am interested in the following topics: Leadership and Race, Leadership and Networks, Collective Leadership, Leadership across Difference... I am also interested in understanding the historical, cultural, and organizational contexts of leadership development frameworks and the extent to which individuals are conscious of these in their individual and collective practice. The best word to describe me is: Intuitive What else you should know about me: For those of you who are interested or curious, my LinkedIn profile is here: http://www.linkedin.com/in/juliusparas How did you find out about Leadership for a New Era? I was researching "Leadership" online and discovered the Learning Leadership Community. I first participated with the "Conversation on Leadership & Race" in Oakland CA (Jan 2010). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MY VITALS geographic location: San Francisco Bay Area current roles: student, board member, consultant, householder (former nonprofit founder & executive director, project/program manager) email: jparas@stanfordalumni.org
